The 4-Part Prompt Formula
1 minute

Every great AI prompt has 4 parts:

Role
Tell AI who to be
"You are an experienced social media manager..."
Task
What you want
"Write a LinkedIn post about..."
Context
Background info
"My business helps small businesses..."
Format
How you want it
"Under 200 words, casual tone, 3 hashtags"

Full example using all 4 parts:

You are an experienced social media manager. Write a LinkedIn post about AI automation for small businesses. My business is SheerForce AI — I help entrepreneurs save 10-20 hours per week using automation. My audience is solopreneurs who are overwhelmed and tech-intimidated. Keep it under 200 words, use a conversational tone, start with a relatable problem, and include 3 relevant hashtags.

5 Mistakes to Avoid
1 minute
01
Being too vague. Bad: "Write a post." Good: "Write a 150-word LinkedIn post about AI for bakery owners."
02
Accepting the first output. Ask AI to revise — "Make this more casual" / "Shorten to 100 words" / "Add a specific example."
03
Forgetting context. Bad: "Write an email." Good: "Write a follow-up email to a customer who requested a quote 3 days ago."
04
Not editing the output. AI gets you 80% there. You add the final 20% — your personality, your stories, your voice.
05
Using AI for everything. Don't use it for financial decisions, legal advice, medical info, or anything requiring real-time data.
